Benefits & Subsidies

There are many public benefits and subsidies available locally that you may be eligible to receive, many of which can be accessed in the links of this site.

Additionally, many benefits services and resources can be accessed through the Benefits Site of the State of Tennessee at Tennessee.gov, which is the official eGovernment website for the State of Tennessee serving as the primary resource for Tennessee web-based services.

Additionally, please connect to the sites below for help with many basic needs such as food (SNAP), nutrition help for needy mothers with small children (WIC), cash assistance for single mothers with young children (TANF), Social Security (SS) and Medicare, children's indigent healthcare (TennCare), for those training or seeking employment, housing assistance, Medicaid, Unemployment benefits, etc.

Additionally, Benefits.gov is available to serve as the Federal Government benefits portal to more than 1,000 Federal and state benefits.   The site's core function is the eligibility prescreening questionnaire or "Benefit Finder." Answers to the questionnaire are used to evaluate a visitor's situation and compare it with the eligibility criteria for more than 1,000 Federally-funded benefits and assistance programs including housing, food/nutrition, education, grants/loans, disaster relief, and Medicare/Medicaid.

Each program description provides citizens with the next steps to apply for any benefit program of interest.  Getting started is simple: Click the "Start Now" button on its homepage at the link here to begin your one-stop search for government assistance programs today.
