Pretrial Family Involvement

We are counting on your immediate family, relatives, friends, significant others, and support persons in your life to be involved in supporting you during pretrial supervision and sentencing to help you make positive changes, receive support and encouragement, access needed resources, and appear at all Pretrial Services appointments and Court hearings.

Mental Health

You may have mental health treatment services as a condition in order to assist you in resolving mental health conditions that limit your life functioning, compliance with supervision, or stability in the community.

Ongoing Support

We know that families often "do the time" with the offender.  This is reflected in the lack of attention, earning power, and support from the incarcerated individual.  This is also evident in all the missed events and "moments" in the lives of loved ones, most especially the children.  Listed below are helpful information, resources, and links to assist families while your loved one is incarcerated, and when they return home.

Marriage/Divorce Records

Verification of a Marriage or Divorce in Tennessee

Verification letters are not considered legal substitutes for marriage licenses or divorce decrees. It is strongly recommended that you make sure a verification letter will satisfy your intended use before ordering.

Certified copies of marriage licenses or divorce decrees are only available from the county clerk (marriage) or district clerk (divorce) in the county or district in which it was obtained.

TANF

Overview

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) provides financial help for children and their parents or relatives who are living with them. Monthly cash payments help pay for food, clothing, housing, utilities, furniture, transportation, telephone, laundry, household equipment, medical supplies not paid for by Medicaid and other basic needs. The amount of TANF payment depends on family size and income.
